Thanks

I would like to express a big THANK YOU for those that came to the CPOST CUG last night. I hope that you left with some knowledge about VMWare and how to build a server and virtual machines from scratch. I’m looking forward to our next meeting because this is where it gets fun. Integrating VMWare and virtualization technologies with the switching and routing infrastructure. Particularly Cisco Nexus. I will be requesting that Cisco provide a pretty knowledgeable person(s) to present on the technology side of it and not so much on the sales side.

Will you be deploying VMWare?

CPOST Meeting March 10th - 6pm at The Monitor

03/10/2009 - 18:00
03/10/2009 - 19:00

Just wanted to let you know that we are scheduled to have our next meeting on March 10th. The presenter will be Bryan Baker from Panduit. He will provide general information such as acceptable practices, industry standards, new technologies, and so forth in relation to cabling and other items. As always, the presentation will focus on the technology side and not the sales side.

Suggested Topics

Folks,

in this blog we can place suggestions as to what future technologies you would like us to present. Anything from infrastructure to troubleshooting.

So far some of the one's that have been suggested are:

Storage
Unified Communications
Virtualization
Network Management Applications

feel free to comment on what you would like to see. If you would like to present on the subject, jet me an email.

Pat

Recruit, Recruit, Recruit

Folks,

as the title implies, we need to recruit as many members as we can so that we:

- Have a bigger presence in the technology world
- Can share ideas and practices when it comes to technology in our respective arenas
- Can get more vendor and channel participation
- Can provide a great impact on future technology

Invite both veteran and novice techies to join the CUG. It would be a great help to the novice simply because they may already feel overwhelmed by the gorilla we call networking.

have an awesome day,

Pat
